Recent Route Expansions 

In the last few years, Uttarakhand Roadways has expanded its services to connect more remote locations in the state:

New routes were added in districts like Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, and Bageshwar. This has improved connectivity in rural and hilly areas.

Interstate routes added to Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Lucknow to cater to increased travel demand. 

More routes to key tourist spots like Auli, Chopta, Valley of Flowers, Tehri Dam, and Betalghat. This promotes tourism in the state.

Addition of New Buses

To meet increasing travel needs, Uttarakhand Roadways has added over 300 new buses to its fleet in 2022. 

Key features:

100 new Volvo buses were added for interstate routes to provide comfortable journeys.

50 electric buses added to promote greener transportation. These operate in Dehradun and Haridwar.

150 deluxe buses added for intrastate tourist routes to religious sites like Badrinath, Kedarnath.

Also added smaller 27-seater buses for remote villages in the hills.

Improved Passenger Experience

Electronic ticketing machines installed in all buses to provide e-tickets to passengers.

All major bus stations get free WiFi access. 

Added more bus shelters and expanded existing terminals to improve the waiting experience.

Integrated transport hubs proposed for Dehradun, Haldwani, and Rishikesh for multi-modal integration.

The recent improvements undertaken by Uttarakhand Roadways show its commitment to better connectivity. With more routes, buses, and passenger facilities, the transit experience is set to get better in the state.
